If you’re not familiar with the work of Vic Berger IV then prepare yourself…you’re in for a treat.

Before Berger’s “big break”, which came first when he was featured on Super Deluxe, Turner Broadcasting’s now defunct attempt at an online media platform (R.I.P.), he was making videos on Vine.  His 64K+ followers turn to his Youtube Channel (and 60k to Instagram) to watch as Berger highlights the absurdity that is all too pervasive in the media world of today. Often times evangelical talking heads the likes of Jim Bakker and Billy Graham, or the politicians that align with them (We’re looking at you Huckabee) find themselves as the subject matter of Berger’s video- after all, they make themselves very easy targets.

Heathens beware: Berger also takes aim at the secular world.

Berger vs. Fuck Jerry

The most recent video to stir up some unwanted attention features the guys from Fuck Jerry Media (check out the video here). Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but completely ripping off an artist’s product without giving the original any creator credit just plain sucks (not to mention that it probably also constitutes an act of copyright infringement).

Recently, Berger called out the Fuck-ers for posting a video that is a direct copy of something he posted previously. Instead of giving Berger credit, or agreeing to remove the content, the nice guys over at FJM responded like a bunch of schoolyard bullies and essentially told Berger to screw off. But Jerry fucked with the wrong guy this time. Not only did Berger respond to the guys over at Fuck Jerry by posting another video calling out FJM’s B.S. behavior, but he also created a hashtag campaign that quickly went viral (#FuckFuckJerry) and also wrote an expose calling the FJM guys out that was printed in a little publication called Rolling Stone.

Vic Berger: IV vs. Proud Boys:0

But this Fuck Jerry kerfuffle wasn’t Berger’s first rendezvous with public confrontation. After he posted a mashup video highlighting the offensive-absurdity of the Trump-supporting-bigoted-racist klan PROUD BOYS, Berger started receiving some pretty heavy threats. But Berger didn’t back down – he knew – and was right – that these little bigots’ words would never be backed by any action – probably a lesson they picked up from herr führer, Trump.

Sure. You could discount Berger’s work as manipulation…In fairness, it pretty much is. Here’s a guy who takes bits and pieces of different content and splices them together to create an end result that exaggerates the message originally conveyed. So what? He’s not claiming to be CNN, he’s a satirist… And, for the record, just because a message may be exaggerated, that doesn’t make it any less true…
