We know – that’s crazy, right?

Here at HEYO, we’re all about acceptance, diversity, and inclusivity – concepts that (we hope) pretty much everyone (at least everyone born after 1980) is about. Actually, regardless of when you were born, if you’re not 100% about these things please do me a favor right now, see that little “x” at the top right of this window? Click it now. No, for real, like right now…and don’t come back.

Any way, this account embodies those ideas in a really beautiful way. We want to draw your attention to one of our favorite daddy account on Instagram. Really, it doesn’t show anything that’s so unique, it actually shows something as natural as breathing, something that ties generations together and connects us all as people: a parent raising and loving their child. But what makes this page a bit different from some ad you’d find on the PAX network is this page collects and exhibits stories of gay, bi, and trans dads. And I love it.

It’s 2019. The fact that a loving couple who might otherwise provide a great home for a child have to fight for the right to adopt a child just because they don’t identify as heterosexual is insane… Especially considering the fact that in the United States there are 400,000 children in foster care.

I look around and see plenty of fucked up people who were raised in a traditional, hetero-normative household and then see people like Zach Wahls, a Senator from Iowa, who in 2011 stood his ground before anti-LGBTQ+ legislators defending his two moms. Not only did Zach turn out to be prettttty cool, but (bonus) he also turned out to be pretty hot. Check out Zach Below.

Give the page a glance and see that gay/bi/trans/queer/etc. culture isn’t exclusively about fashion, hookups, and incredible parties in Mykonos, but are also about playing catch with their kids in the front yard of their home, just behind that white picket fence.

Below you could check out some of our favorite posts of dads doing what they do, being dads.
